Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Aslay teams up with veteran producer and artist Shirko on “Nimekumiss,” an emotional Bongo Flava / Afro-Pop song from Aslay’s upcoming studio album My Way.

“Nimekumiss” is the third track on My Way, a 14-track project scheduled for release on May 29, 2026. The song runs for 3 minutes and 48 seconds and stands out as one of the few collaborations on the album, alongside Aslay’s track with Chino Kidd.
The title “Nimekumiss” translates to “I Have Missed You” in Swahili. The song carries a heartfelt message of longing, nostalgia, and emotional connection, with Aslay and Shirko blending their voices over a smooth modern Bongo Flava sound.
The collaboration is especially meaningful because Shirko has been closely connected to Aslay’s musical journey, dating back to the Yamoto Band era. His appearance on “Nimekumiss” adds depth to the project, reflecting both musical history and personal respect.
