Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Marioo teams up with Nigerian artist Chella on “Sugar 2.0,” a vibrant remix and cross-continental collaboration from Marioo’s EP, MMMCXII (3112).

Set as track number six on the MMMCXII EP, “Sugar 2.0” builds on the success of Marioo’s original solo hit “Sugar,” which was released earlier on April 17, 2026. The original version gained attention through the Sugar Challenge and its catchy phrase “Bia Tamu,” making it one of Marioo’s standout romantic releases.
Musically, “Sugar 2.0” blends Bongo Flava melodies with smooth Amapiano influences, creating a sweet, danceable sound. The song uses “sugar” as a romantic metaphor for a lover who brings happiness, sweetness, and flavor into the artist’s life.
With Chella adding his unique vocal texture, the remix expands the song’s appeal beyond Tanzania, connecting East African and West African music through melody, rhythm, and romance. The original track was produced by S2Kizzy (Zombie), while the EP’s executive production was handled by Kaniba Creator under Marioo’s Bad Nation imprint.
