Kenyan R&B artist Nikita Kering returns with The Lick Back, a bold 5-track EP that introduces a darker, more fearless side of her artistry.

Officially released on May 29, 2026, The Lick Back – EP is listed as Nikita Kering’s latest release on Apple Music, featuring 5 songs and marking a fresh chapter after earlier projects such as The Other Side.
The EP includes “Intro” featuring Sofiya Nzau, “Niwache,” “Give Me My Money,” “Outside,” and “Sema Ukweli.” Across the project, Nikita Kering experiments with R&B, dancehall-inspired rhythms, Gengetone energy, and multilingual expression, showing a more direct and confident sound.
The Lick Back is built around themes of revenge, self-worth, emotional honesty, and reclaiming power. Ahead of the release, Nikita described the project as being about revenge “for everything, and to everyone that deserves it,” while encouraging fans to listen closely to the lyrics.
The project’s rollout also featured cinematic visuals, including a widely discussed teaser showing Nikita Kering setting a car on fire, adding to the EP’s darker and more confrontational creative direction.
Through The Lick Back, Nikita Kering moves beyond her familiar soulful ballad sound and steps into a bolder musical space, using the EP to express independence, confidence, emotional closure, and control over her own story.
