Renowned Tanzanian film star Salim Ahmed, famously known as Gabo Zigamba, has officially unveiled his latest television drama, “Baraluko” — a groundbreaking production that he says will redefine Tanzania’s local film landscape.

Speaking to the press during the launch event in Dar es Salaam, Gabo emphasized that Baraluko mirrors real-life experiences familiar to many Tanzanians, while also urging audiences to embrace and support local storytelling.
“This drama is rooted in our own realities — the struggles, the betrayals, the family secrets. I’ve also brought in some of the top football players of today, giving it a fresh, unique edge,” Gabo stated.
He added,
“Everything about Baraluko — from the storyline to the cinematography — meets international standards. I believe it’s time people started seeing our local productions for what they truly are: world-class.”
With a stellar cast including Marry Mawigi, Zulfa Msomali, and Jully, Baraluko promises a thrilling journey through love, betrayal, secrets, and the high price of truth.
