Drake's Toronto Mansion Flooded Amid Record-Breaking Storm

A violent storm swept through the Toronto metro area on Tuesday (July 16), leaving over 100,000 citizens without power, according to the BBC. Even Drake’s mansion was not spared. The 6 God posted a video on his Instagram Story showing at least one floor of his Toronto estate completely flooded.

In a light-hearted reaction to the potentially expensive repairs ahead, the OVO boss joked about the brown tint of the water, comparing it to one of his favorite cocktails. “This better be Espresso Martini,” he captioned the clip, which features another person trying to keep the doors to another room shut while Drake walks around barefoot with a broom that probably won’t be much help.

Drake’s fans had some fun at his expense on social media. “OVO tears done flooded the house,” one person wrote on X. Another quipped: “Bro got the rap game against him, AND NOW MOTHER NATURE?!?!?”

Environment Canada reported that nearly four inches of rain fell in Toronto due to the combination of three separate storms, breaking the city’s rainfall record that had stood since 1941.

The worst of the storm seems to be over, with no more significant rain expected for the rest of Tuesday. “We had 25 percent more rain in three hours than we’d have normally in the whole month of July with all the thunderstorms and systems that moved through,” said local meteorologist Dave Phillips.

Authorities have reportedly made at least 14 rescues so far and continue to assess the highway and property damages caused by the flooding.

Drake shared a video of his house flooded by the severe rainfall in Toronto, captioning it humorously: “This better be Espresso Martini.”
