Released on May 31, 2026, “Mbadala” has quickly gained attention in the Tanzanian gospel scene for its bold spiritual reminder. The title “Mbadala” translates as “Replacement” or “Substitute,” pointing to the message that no servant should become proud, because God’s work can continue through someone else.
The song’s key message is captured in the warning “Yupo mbadala wako, usinyanyue mabega,” meaning there is someone who can replace you, so do not lift your shoulders in pride. Through this message, Moravian Efatha Choir encourages believers to serve with humility, diligence, and gratitude.
Musically, “Mbadala” is a high-energy Swahili gospel track built with rich choral arrangements, brass sections, and a strong call-and-response worship style. The song was composed by James Frank, with vocal arrangement by Yusuph Mkoma, music direction and main keys by CallmeDee, and video direction by Silver Cineto.
