Despite a lackluster first half from Real Madrid, where Borussia Dortmund missed several chances, including Karim Adeyemi’s close attempt, the match remained goalless at halftime. Nicklas Fullkrug also hit the post, leaving Dortmund frustrated.

In the second half, Real Madrid broke the deadlock in the 75th minute when Dani Carvajal headed in a corner from Toni Kroos. Vinicius Jr. sealed the victory with a second goal seven minutes from time, ensuring Real Madrid took home the prestigious trophy.

This victory adds to Real Madrid’s impressive record in the Champions League, with their last triumph coming in the 2021-2022 season. Dortmund’s sole Champions League title remains from 1997.
