Kylian Mbappe Issues Formal Notice to PSG Over £85m Unpaid Finances

French football superstar Kylian Mbappe has reportedly issued a formal notice to his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), over £85 million in unpaid finances owed to him following his departure from the club. The France captain joined Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the season after running down his contract with the Parisian side.

Despite parting ways on good terms, the 25-year-old is still awaiting a portion of his bonus and wages as part of an agreement with PSG. Both Mbappe and the club have previously stated publicly that there is an agreement in place that acknowledges the substantial investment PSG made in Mbappe’s development since his £166 million transfer from Monaco in 2017. Negotiations over the final settlement amount are reportedly progressing positively.

The French media outlet L’Equipe has claimed that Mbappe has now given PSG a final notice to settle the unpaid amount. The agreement, reached last summer, stipulated that Mbappe would waive some of his bonus and salary should he leave on a free transfer. However, Mbappe is now seeking the payment he believes is due to him.

While preparing for his new life in Madrid, Mbappe has reportedly purchased a £15 million mansion in the Spanish capital. He is also expected to receive an extended break from pre-season duties should France win the ongoing European Championship. Despite suffering a broken nose in France’s opening Euro 2024 clash against Austria and being benched for the recent match against the Netherlands, Mbappe remains a central figure in both his national team and club football.
