The arrest occurred when a Plantation Police officer noticed Kodak Black’s vehicle parked improperly on the roadway with the tail lights on. The rapper was found asleep behind the wheel, with marijuana in the car and an alcoholic beverage. Further examination led to the discovery of a small bag of white powder, later identified as cocaine, which Kodak Black tried to discard. Another bag of cocaine was found in his back pocket.
Following his arrest, Kodak Black faced charges including possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, probation violation, and improper vehicle stopping. He has since paid the $75,000 bail and is now required to undergo regular drug tests.
This arrest is just the latest in a series of legal issues for Kodak Black. In July 2022, he was arrested for possessing oxycodone and marijuana in his car, along with significant cash, leading to charges of intent to traffic and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Additionally, in 2019, he faced drug and weapon possession charges while returning to the U.S. from Canada, resulting in a four-year prison sentence.
