Mai Jenkins, 44, countered the claims made by Jeezy (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) in documents filed in Fulton County. She stressed that her insistence on safety measures, such as securing firearms and ensuring the presence of trained caregivers, should not be misconstrued as “gatekeeping” but rather as responsible parenting. These steps, according to her filing, are crucial for the well-being of their 23-month-old daughter, especially during travel and when under others’ care.
The dispute escalated in November when Jeezy claimed that their agreed-upon visitation schedule through the end of 2023 was becoming challenging to maintain, leading to stress and confusion for Monaco. Mai Jenkins, in her response, asserted that she had not only adhered to the agreed dates but also extended additional time for Jeezy during the Christmas holidays.
Amidst these custody battles, there have been mutual accusations, including Mai Jenkins’ insinuations of infidelity on Jeezy’s part, which he has denied. The couple, who married in 2020, filed for divorce in September 2022, with Jeezy expressing his continued love and respect for Mai Jenkins despite the separation.
The ongoing legal proceedings highlight the complexities and emotional challenges of navigating co-parenting and custody arrangements post-separation.
