Zac Efron was born on October 18, 1987, in San Luis Obispo, California. He began acting at a young age, performing in school plays and community theater productions. In the early 2000s, Efron began appearing in guest roles on television shows such as “Firefly,” “ER,” and “Summerland.”

In 2006, Efron landed his breakthrough role as Troy Bolton in the Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical.” The film was a massive success and launched Efron’s career. He reprised his role in the two sequels, “High School Musical 2” and “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” both of which also performed well at the box office.

Following the success of the “High School Musical” franchise, Efron began to transition to more mature roles.
