A BLIND MAN KILLS HIS MOTHER IN NJOMBE

Elisha Mwena (42), a resident of Idofi Village located in the council of Makambako town in Njombe region, who is visually impaired, is being held by the police force in the region for the crime of beating and causing death to his mother, Elina Nzilano (87) because of denying his child food.

Speaking to journalists, the Njombe regional police commander, Hamis Issa, said that the mother denied her grandson food because he stole a chicken and ate it alone, so she decided to punish him by denying him food.

Commander Issa has said that the act angered the father of the child who is visually impaired and then he took his stick and hit his mother and hurt her and when she was taken to the hospital he died
