Peter Msechu, a Tanzanian artist, has made significant contributions to the East African music scene, including his song “Pili Pili.” Born in 1988 in the Kigoma region of northern Tanzania, Msechu began singing at the age of 10 in the Kigoma Lutheran Church Choir, under the guidance of his father. His musical journey took a major leap forward in 2009 when he participated in Bongo Star Search (BSS), impressing the judges and audience with his energetic performances and eventually finishing in second place. This exposure helped him build a substantial fanbase across Tanzania and beyond.
