Her version was released on June 20, 2025, as part of the album Au Temps Des Classiques Pour Papa D, Vol. 15, continuing her mission of reviving timeless Congolese hits.

Faya Tess, who rose to prominence after joining Afrisa International under the legendary Tabu Ley Rochereau, is known for her powerful voice and dedication to preserving classic Rhumba. Through her Au Temps Des Classiques series, she breathes new life into iconic songs while maintaining their original emotional depth and cultural essence.
“Eswi Yo Wapi,” a Lingala phrase meaning “Where does it hurt you?” or “Why does it concern you?”, tells the story of a woman confronting a former lover who abandoned her during difficult times but later returns to question her happiness. The song carries a strong message of independence, resilience, and self-worth — highlighting the strength of moving forward and thriving despite past neglect.
