Born on June 16, 1996, in Pahou, Ouidah—one of Benin’s most historic and culturally vibrant cities—Nikanor discovered his love for music at an early age. His musical journey began in the warm, rhythmic atmosphere of his local church, where he sang in the choir and joined various musical groups. These early experiences shaped his artistic identity and laid the foundation for the artist he would later become.

In an interview, he revealed that he adopted the name “Nikanor” because of its powerful meaning: “Victorious” in both Greek and Hebrew. The name reflects not only his artistic ambition but also his desire to inspire and uplift through his music.
