Zimbabwean Afro-dancehall artist Gift Kudakwashe Hombarume, better known as Chillmaster, drops a fresh single called “Vana Venyu.”

The track, released under his Chillmaster Music imprint, comes out of Harare and is co-produced by Tadexx Made It. Chillmaster has carved his name in Zimbabwe’s music scene through his emotional rawness, blending Afro-dancehall with storytelling about life’s highs and lows.

Recently, he’s also made headlines for legal troubles — he was convicted of culpable homicide and sentenced to community service, and later banned from driving for nine months.

“Vana Venyu” seems to explore themes of belonging, legacy, and the connection between the artist and his community — almost like a message to his people (“your children”) about identity, responsibility, and love.
