Nyamari Ongegu, better known by his stage name Nyashinski, is one of Kenya’s most respected and influential music artists. Born on April 8, 1984, Nyashinski first rose to fame in the early 2000s as a member of the groundbreaking hip-hop group Kleptomaniax. At the height of their success, he made an unexpected move—relocating to the United States in 2006, where he stepped away from the spotlight and took on a completely different life, working various jobs including as a truck driver.

A decade later, in 2016, Nyashinski made a stunning return to the Kenyan music scene—this time as a solo artist. His comeback was not only successful but transformative, marking the beginning of a new chapter that redefined his artistry and cemented his legacy in East African music.
