South African gospel group Umlazi Gospel Choir (UGC) presents “Baba Wethu,” a powerful Christian & Gospel / Acappella hymn and one of the choir’s most recognized worship songs.

Originally released on November 22, 2018, as part of the album Nikela, “Baba Wethu” later received a single release on December 25, 2024. The song was produced by Kagiso Mthembu, composed by Thulani Ndlovu, and written by Sipho Zulu.
“Baba Wethu” is a Zulu musical rendition of The Lord’s Prayer, opening with the deeply familiar words “Baba Wethu Ose’zulwini,” meaning “Our Father in Heaven.” Through rich vocal harmony and a solemn worship atmosphere, Umlazi Gospel Choir delivers a hymn centered on prayer, reverence, and surrender to God.
