Félix Wazekwa is a distinguished Congolese singer-songwriter, bandleader, lyricist, dancer, and filmmaker born on 14 September 1962 in Kinshasa (formerly Léopoldville), in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He emerged musically in the 1970s, joining Kin-Verso and later composing for icons like Papa Wemba and Koffi Olomidé in the early ’90s. His solo debut came in 1995 with Tétragramme, and he has since released over a dozen albums, gaining renown for his deep Lingala lyrics and his impact on soukous, rumba, and ndombolo music.

“Léopards Fimbu Na Fimbu” is a celebratory ndombolo anthem by Félix Wazekwa, from DR Congo. Originally released in 2015 and extended in 2017, it became the official goal celebration song of the Congolese national football team, Les Léopards, complete with a dance mimicking corrective whipping a symbol against impunity and a unifying cultural phenomenon on the pitch
