Kenya’s renowned music collective, Boondocks Gang, has dropped yet another infectious track titled “Tiktok.” The inspiration behind “TIKTOK” stemmed from observing unity across various age groups at home during challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, as people came together through music to create viral challenges. Boondocks Gang, formed in 2018, consists of four members, including three musicians and a DJ.

Among the pioneers of Kenya’s gengetone music scene are the trio of Exray, Odi wa Murang’a, and Maddox, integral members of Boondocks Gang. Their contributions to the genre are widely recognized. It’s impossible to discuss Gengetone without acknowledging Boondocks Gang’s influence.
