During a court hearing on Monday, November 27, Sytch, 50, addressed the courtroom and broke down in tears as she expressed her remorse to the victim’s family. “I know my words are not enough. But please know I think about you every day,” Sytch said, as reported by Fox35. She continued, “Every second of every day, and I will do whatever I can to make sure this never happens again.”
The accident occurred in March 2022 when Sytch crashed into Lasseter’s car, which was stopped at a red light on North Yonge Street in Ormond Beach. The impact pushed Lasseter’s car into another vehicle, leading to his tragic death.
Sytch faced multiple charges, including DUI causing death, causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, and several counts of DUI causing injury and property damage. Prior to the accident, she had been arrested on at least six occasions for DWI-related offenses and was involved in a domestic incident earlier this year.
Lasseter’s daughter, Whitney Lasseter Hill, spoke about the profound impact of her father’s loss, describing him as a positive and loving man who was her biggest supporter.
