In this new joint Lick, Jamaican artist, Shenseea had to join forces with an American rapper originally from Houston, Texas, she first garnered attention when videos of her freestyling became popular on social media, Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, known professionally as Megan Thee Stallion.
In 2020, Shenseea lost her mother suddenly. The news sent shockwaves through the dancehall community, with many artists showing their support, such as Jada Kingdom, Popcaan, and Spice. Jada and Shenseea ended their feud due to this.
