“Bayayiloya Imali” addresses themes of financial betrayal, broken trust, and ingratitude. Through a relatable story about helping someone who is struggling financially, uDumakahle reflects on how acts of kindness can sometimes lead to disappointment when borrowed money is misused or relationships change after the loan is given.
The song was produced by Scelo Hlongwane, with the lyrics and composition written by Mpilo Seluleko Nkosi. Its traditional Maskandi sound features fast-paced acoustic guitar work, a driving bass groove, and expressive vocals that support the track’s conversational storytelling approach.
With its focus on money, trust, friendship, and human relationships, “Bayayiloya Imali” delivers a cautionary message while maintaining the energetic musical character associated with contemporary Maskandi.
