“Uyedelela,” also known as “Uyangedelela,” is an isiZulu title that translates to “You are being disrespectful” or “You are arrogant.” The title appears across South African Maskandi and traditional music, where songs carrying this name often explore personal rivalries, confrontation, and storytelling.

Among notable recordings is Omaganga’s “Uyedelela” featuring uMdumazi, released as part of the album Intombi yoMxhosa. Udlubheke also has a narrative-driven “Uyedelela” built around traditional Maskandi instrumentation, while the late Umgqumeni recorded “Uyangedelela” on his album Ezobhova, Vol. 1.
The title is also associated with South African Kwaito through Mzekezeke, who released “Uyadelela” in 2006 on Ama B.E.E, featuring Manando, Kharas, and McGyver. For gospel listeners, similarly sounding titles include “Uyalalelwa” by Joyous Celebration and “Uyabonelela,” a worship hymn centered on God’s provision and grace.
