Released on September 23, 2026, “Bhimbi Zanele” is featured on Thokozani Langa’s latest studio album, View Once, released under Somnandi Sun Entertainment.
Produced by Phathaphatha, the song finds the Maskandi veteran delivering the bold storytelling, traditional Zulu expression, and competitive lyrical energy that have long formed part of his musical identity.
“Bhimbi Zanele” carries the spirit of a classic Maskandi musical confrontation, with Thokozani addressing a rival artist through sharp remarks, humor, and boasts about his position and longevity in the genre.
Throughout the track, he challenges his opponent’s standing in Maskandi, dismisses attempts to gain attention through his name, and confidently reminds listeners of his own experience and influence within the scene.
The song also incorporates traditional izibongo-style praise poetry, allowing Thokozani to reference his roots, family background, and cultural identity while maintaining the confrontational character of the track.
As part of the View Once album, “Bhimbi Zanele” adds another chapter to Thokozani Langa’s long-running contribution to South African Maskandi music.
