Tanzanian hit producer and recording artist Mocco Genius has released a brand-new extended play titled KANDA, officially arriving on September 24, 2026.

The six-track project marks Mocco Genius’ debut EP and draws inspiration from the golden generations of East African music, particularly the era when listeners discovered and enjoyed music through cassette tapes, popularly known as kanda, and analogue radio.
Across KANDA, Mocco Genius blends nostalgic Tanzanian musical influences with modern Bongo Flava production, creating a project that connects classic East African sound and culture with today’s contemporary music landscape.
The EP also brings together notable collaborations, including Tanzanian stars Alikiba and Yammi. “Hesabu” featuring Yammi delivers a smooth, melodic love record centered on immeasurable affection, while “Single” featuring Alikiba explores complicated relationships, toxic exes, and the freedom of embracing single life.
As both producer and recording artist, Mocco Genius drives the creative direction of the project, using KANDA to showcase his versatility while paying tribute to an earlier generation of Tanzanian and East African music consumption.
