Popular Ugandan comedy and music duo Maulana and Reign return with a new song titled “Layila.”
RELATED: Maulana & Reign – Ready
The emotional track is presented as a special tribute dedicated to the late Hon. Helen Nakimuli, the District Woman Representative for Kalangala District, who passed away in 2026 following complications related to a surgical procedure.
Beyond its tribute, “Layila” carries an affectionate and emotional message centered on love, devotion, remembrance, and loss. The Luganda expression “Omukwano gwo eno ewange lye dagaala” reflects the song’s tender message, describing a loved one’s affection as medicine or healing.
Through “Layila,” Maulana and Reign use music to honor the memory of Hon. Helen Nakimuli while delivering a touching song filled with emotion and reflection.
