Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya delivers a raw and uncompromising solo performance with “Risk Na Hii Money,” a gritty Swahili Hip-Hop / Underground Rap / Street Rap track that examines the sacrifices, dangers, and difficult choices associated with chasing wealth in Nairobi’s informal settlements.

Released as a cornerstone track on Virusi Mbaya’s Matenjagwo studio project in August 2026, “Risk Na Hii Money” was distributed through his official platforms. The track features production from an independent Kenyan hip-hop producer and Nairobi street engineer, while the visuals were handled by Virusi Mbaya’s visual team alongside independent Nairobi street videographers.
Lyrically, “Risk Na Hii Money” explores the harsh realities behind the pursuit of money, including dangerous decisions, personal sacrifices, street pressure, and the risks people may take when financial opportunities are limited. Virusi Mbaya uses direct storytelling to examine the difficult trade-offs that can accompany the search for economic survival.
Musically, the track blends gritty Swahili rap with deep underground basslines, steady drum syncopation, sharp lyrical delivery, and a dark street-oriented atmosphere. Its stripped-back intensity allows the storytelling to remain at the center, making it one of the more socially focused cuts from Matenjagwo.
