Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya delivers a raw and commanding performance with “Itoka Ilitoka,” a dark Swahili Hip-Hop / Street Drill / Underground Rap track that captures the realities of neighborhood life, financial pressure, resilience, and survival in Nairobi’s informal settlements.

Released in February 2026, “Itoka Ilitoka” was recorded at Wasted Records and produced by Boutross and VTR Beats. The single was distributed through 2109087 Records DK / DistroKid, while the official visuals were directed by Frank Thee Director under Vibe Vision Studios. The song gained strong online momentum and accumulated hundreds of thousands of views ahead of Virusi Mbaya’s Matenjagwo album.
Lyrically, “Itoka Ilitoka” explores everyday financial struggles, neighborhood identity, resilience, and the survival mechanisms developed while navigating Nairobi’s informal settlements.
