Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya joins forces with Kapitani on “Freno Za Foreino,” a gritty Swahili Hip-Hop / Underground Rap / Street Poetry track that explores local survival, fast-money culture, and the influence of foreign trends on young people navigating Nairobi’s informal settlements.

Originally released as a standalone single, “Freno Za Foreino” later became part of Virusi Mbaya’s Matenjagwo studio album in August 2026. The track was produced by Heffe El Studios and distributed through 2109087 Records DK / DistroKid, while the official visuals were handled by Virusi Mbaya’s visual team alongside independent Nairobi street videographers.
Lyrically, “Freno Za Foreino” examines the tension between local street realities and outside influences. Virusi Mbaya and Kapitani use sharp Swahili storytelling to explore fast cash, survival instincts, youth culture, and the changing dynamics of Nairobi’s urban environment.
Musically, the track blends raw underground hip-hop with heavy basslines and hard-hitting street rhythms. The stripped-back production gives both artists room to deliver direct, energetic performances, while their collaboration adds another layer to Virusi Mbaya’s socially conscious approach to Kenyan street rap.
