Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya takes a cinematic approach with “Fast Shot (Quicky) Skit,” a minimalist Hip-Hop / Spoken Word / Street Interlude that functions as a conceptual transition within his music. Rather than following a conventional song structure, the skit captures raw street conversations and atmospheric sounds to deepen the narrative surrounding his project.

Released as part of Virusi Mbaya’s Matenjagwo studio album in August 2026, “Fast Shot (Quicky) Skit” was distributed through his official platforms. The production was handled by an independent Nairobi street engineer and hip-hop producer, while the visual presentation was managed by Virusi Mbaya’s visual team alongside independent Nairobi street videographers.
The skit’s content focuses on the realities and conversations of Nairobi’s informal settlements, using spoken-word elements and authentic environmental soundscapes to provide context for the surrounding tracks. Its episodic format gives listeners a closer connection to the street environment that influences Virusi Mbaya’s storytelling.
Musically, “Fast Shot (Quicky) Skit” uses minimalist atmospheric hip-hop, spoken-word delivery, subtle background textures, and raw street ambience. Designed as a pacing and transition piece, the skit adds a cinematic layer to Matenjagwo while connecting the heavier tracks throughout the project.
