Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya joins forces with Perusi Mawada and Kanambo Dede on “Dead Ends,” a gritty Swahili Hip-Hop / Boom-Bap / Street Rap collaboration that examines the barriers, struggles, and difficult choices encountered while navigating life in Nairobi’s informal settlements. The track brings together three distinctive voices for a hard-hitting piece of urban storytelling.

Released as part of Virusi Mbaya’s Matenjagwo studio album in August 2026, “Dead Ends” features production by CTB alongside a Nairobi hip-hop street engineer. The track was independently distributed through DistroKid, while its visuals were handled by Virusi Mbaya’s visual team and independent Nairobi street videographers.
Lyrically, “Dead Ends” explores personal setbacks, structural challenges, street crime traps, and the relentless hustle required to survive difficult circumstances.
