Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya teams up with Skillo (Skillo Kapitani) on “Chinja Ua,” a dark and high-octane Swahili Hip-Hop / Underground Rap / Street Rap collaboration that delivers an intense portrayal of resilience, survival, and the defensive mindset shaped by life in Nairobi’s informal settlements.

Released as part of Virusi Mbaya’s Matenjagwo studio album rollout in August 2026, “Chinja Ua” was distributed through his official streaming platforms. The track features production from an independent Nairobi hip-hop producer and street engineer, while the visuals were handled by Virusi Mbaya’s visual team alongside independent Nairobi street videographers.
Lyrically, “Chinja Ua” focuses on resilience, self-protection, street pressure, and the survival politics that influence life in challenging urban environments. Virusi Mbaya and Skillo deliver forceful perspectives that emphasize determination and the refusal to be overcome by difficult circumstances.
Musically, the track combines dark Swahili rap with heavy underground bass grooves, aggressive drum patterns, sharp rhythmic transitions, and raw street cadences.
