Kenyan hip-hop artist Virusi Mbaya teams up with Skillo (Skillo Kapitani) on “Chinja Ua,” a dark and high-energy Swahili Hip-Hop / Underground Rap / Street Rap collaboration that explores resilience, self-protection, and the survival mindset shaped by life in Nairobi’s informal settlements.

Featured on Virusi Mbaya’s newly released Matenjagwo studio album in August 2026, “Chinja Ua” was distributed through Virusi Mbaya’s official platforms. The track was produced by an independent Kenyan hip-hop producer and Nairobi street engineer, while the visuals were handled by Virusi Mbaya’s visual team alongside independent Nairobi street videographers.
Lyrically, “Chinja Ua” delivers intense street commentary around determination, defense mechanisms, and the pressures of surviving in challenging urban environments. Virusi Mbaya and Skillo bring their individual perspectives together to create a forceful narrative centered on resilience and standing firm against adversity.
Musically, the track blends dark Swahili rap with heavy underground bass grooves, aggressive drum patterns, sharp rhythmic elements, and raw street cadences. The intense production complements the uncompromising delivery of both artists, making “Chinja Ua” a strong collaborative cut from Matenjagwo.
