Acclaimed South African Maskandi and urban traditional music artist Mzukulu, born Dumisani Zulu, has released his brand new 5-track EP titled Ubumina, officially arriving on August 7, 2026.

The project marks a fresh chapter for the KwaZulu-Natal native, blending traditional Maskandi guitar rhythms with modern instrumentation, soulful melodies, and storytelling rooted in everyday life, relationships, identity, and personal growth.
Across Ubumina, Mzukulu stays close to his traditional sound while opening the project to a new generation of listeners through polished contemporary production. The EP also features collaborations with Ganiso Lite, OmaThwala, Londeka Shangase, and Shenge Wasehlalankosi.
The title track “Ubumina” features Ganiso Lite and OmaThwala, while Londeka Shangase appears on “Ngaphakathi.” OmaThwala returns on “Isesheli,” and Shenge Wasehlalankosi joins Mzukulu on the closing track “Sihayo.”
The release also connects with Mzukulu’s Album Tour, with live performances scheduled in Cape Town on August 14 and 15, 2026, giving fans an opportunity to experience the new material on stage.
