South African Maskandi artist Mzukulu teams up with Londeka Shangase on “Ngaphakathi,” a soulful Maskandi / Afro-Soul collaboration taken from his newly released Ubumina EP.

Officially released on August 7, 2026, “Ngaphakathi” is the third track on the 5-track Ubumina EP. The song was written and composed by Dumisani Sfanele Zulu (Mzukulu) and Londeka Shangase, with the release issued under Baqazile Entertainment and distributed via DistroKid.
In Zulu, “Ngaphakathi” translates to “Inside” or “Within.” The song explores a committed romantic relationship, with the two artists expressing trust, loyalty, emotional fulfillment, and their desire to take their love toward marriage and traditional family structures.
Musically, the track combines Mzukulu’s signature Maskandi guitar sound with the smooth, soulful vocals of Londeka Shangase. Their vocal exchange gives the record an intimate feel while maintaining the traditional South African character at the heart of the Ubumina EP.
