Legendary Tanzanian singer Matonya has released “Nakupenda,” a smooth and romantic Bongo Flava single built around love, devotion, and heartfelt reassurance.

Officially released on August 2, 2026, the song sees Matonya return to the classic love-driven sound that has defined much of his career. The Swahili title “Nakupenda” means “I Love You,” with the song expressing deep affection and commitment to a partner.
The audio was produced by acclaimed Tanzanian hitmaker S2kizzy, who delivers a polished arrangement with warm melodies and an easygoing romantic feel. The official music video was shot in Dar es Salaam and directed by Japhet.
Distributed globally through Ziiki Media, “Nakupenda” is available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify.
