South African Maskandi artist Mashelela has released “UMLANDO,” a traditional Maskandi track built around fast acoustic guitar patterns and deeply rooted Zulu storytelling.

Officially released on July 31, 2026, the song appears as Track 8 on Mashelela’s 17-track studio album IMBONGOLO YISHENDE. The title “UMLANDO” translates from Zulu as “History” or “Heritage.”
The song reflects on personal history, legacy, and cultural identity, using poetic lyrics to connect past experiences with the values and traditions carried into the present.
Written, arranged, and composed by Sabelo Ngubane (Mashelela), the track was mixed and mastered by Garage Ngubane. It was released under Mashelela Entertainment and is available on major platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
