South African Maskandi artist Mashelela teams up with Shenge on “NGIYEKELENI NGIHLANYE,” a powerful Maskandi collaboration built on traditional storytelling and energetic Zulu guitar rhythms.

Officially released on July 31, 2026, the song appears as Track 6 on Mashelela’s 17-track album IMBONGOLO YISHENDE. Running for 5 minutes and 43 seconds, the track showcases the authentic sound and lyrical depth that continue to define modern Maskandi music.
The Zulu title “NGIYEKELENI NGIHLANYE” roughly translates to “Leave Me Alone to Be Crazy” or “Let Me Lose My Mind in Peace.” Through expressive storytelling, the song explores personal struggles, emotional freedom, and the desire to be left alone during difficult moments.
Written and composed by Sabelo Ngubane (Mashelela), the song features signature acoustic guitar work by Songqongqo, while Garage Ngubane handled the arrangement and mastering, delivering a polished production that stays true to the traditional Maskandi sound.
