South African Maskandi artist Mashelela has released “FUSEGI UYANQUMA MBHEM,” a hard-hitting traditional track built around sharp acoustic instrumentation and commanding Zulu vocal delivery.

Officially released on July 31, 2026, the song opens Mashelela’s 2026 studio album IMBONGOLO YISHENDE as Track 1. Running for 5 minutes and 5 seconds, it sets the tone for the project with rapid guitar picking, lively concertina melodies, and an intense spoken-word performance.
The song was written and composed by Sabelo Ngubane, professionally known as Mashelela. Its instrumentation features guitar contributions from Songqongqo, while Garage Ngubane handled the arrangement, mixing, and mastering.
Musically, “FUSEGI UYANQUMA MBHEM” stays rooted in classic Maskandi, combining fast acoustic rhythms with bold storytelling and a raw traditional sound. Following its release, the track gained early momentum in South Africa and entered the country’s daily Spotify chart at No. 107.
