Kera Twari Abanyamahanga is a new Kinyarwanda gospel worship song by Rwanda’s renowned Hoziana Choir ADEPR Nyarugenge, officially released on August 21, 2026.

Translated as “Once We Were Foreigners,” the song carries a strong message of salvation, belonging, and spiritual transformation. Its theme draws inspiration from Ephesians 2:19, reflecting on how believers who were once regarded as foreigners and strangers have been brought near to God and made members of His household.
Through the song, Hoziana Choir presents a collective testimony of moving from separation and spiritual alienation into a new identity as God’s people. The message celebrates redemption, grace, and the privilege of belonging to the family of God.
Musically, Kera Twari Abanyamahanga maintains the rich choral sound for which Hoziana Choir ADEPR Nyarugenge is widely known. The performance opens with expressive soprano melodies before expanding into layered tenor and bass harmonies, supported by acoustic piano and restrained live percussion that allows the choir’s vocals to remain at the centre of the arrangement.
The audio production was handled by Sano at The Sound Studio, while the visual presentation was produced by A Universal Image Production and directed by Fleury (Legend). The choir arrangement and direction were led by the Hoziana Choir Technical Committee.
Based at ADEPR Nyarugenge under the Association des Églises de Pentecôte au Rwanda, Hoziana Choir continues to use traditional choral worship to communicate biblical messages to gospel audiences in Rwanda and beyond.
