Released in August 2026, the song was produced by Jerry Fingers under Kanene Music Production and released independently. The accompanying visuals were directed by Direct Lines Media alongside Kanene Visuals.
Lyrically, “Stop Political Violence” condemns political clashes and the destruction they can cause within communities. Performed in a mixture of Nyanja and Bemba, General Kanene uses powerful social commentary and biblical references, including the story of Judas and Jesus, to warn against betrayal, division, and turning against fellow citizens.
Musically, the track blends socially conscious Zambian dancehall and Afro-pop with steady percussion, rhythmic basslines, traditional melodic influences, and commanding spoken-word elements. The production gives Kanene’s message room to remain direct and forceful while maintaining an accessible contemporary sound.
More than a conventional song, “Stop Political Violence” serves as a call for national unity, echoing the message of “One Zambia, One Nation.” Its topical message has helped the release gain attention across Zambian digital communities, including TikTok, YouTube, and WhatsApp networks.
