Rwandan Christian worshiper and recording artist David Kega has released a brand new gospel single titled “Ishmael.” The song carries a strong biblical message of hope, identity, and God’s promise over lives that may feel forgotten or rejected.

Officially released on July 1, 2026, “Ishmael” was produced by Boris, with live keys by Fab Keys and bass by Tyboo. The visuals were directed by Director Musinga, with video editing handled by Eddie Cuts.
The song draws its message from Genesis 21:18, where God speaks a promise over Ishmael, declaring that he will become a great nation. Through this theme, David Kega speaks to children born out of difficult situations, those raised without knowing their parents, and anyone who feels left outside the promise.
