South African traditional Zulu artist UNjoko has released a brand new Maskandi song titled “Sayiqala Kancane,” featuring fellow Maskandi musician Smiramira. The track is taken from UNjoko’s 2026 studio album, Isithombes’iphone.

Officially released on June 19, 2026, “Sayiqala Kancane” appears as the second track on the album and was released under Loxion Records. The song was composed and written by Mthokozisi Goodenough Mbhambo, with a runtime of 3 minutes and 40 seconds.
The title “Sayiqala Kancane” can be understood as “we started it slowly” or “we started it humbly.” True to Maskandi storytelling, the song reflects on a journey that began from small beginnings and grew into something meaningful over time.
Musically, the track carries fast acoustic guitar picking, traditional Zulu bassline movement, and rich vocal harmonies. Smiramira’s feature adds a smooth melodic touch that blends well with UNjoko’s strong Maskandi delivery.
