South African traditional Zulu artist UNjoko, whose real name is Mthokozisi Goodenough Mbhambo, has released a brand new solo track titled “Amalingo.” The song is a strong Maskandi release taken from his 2026 studio album Isithombes’iphone.

Officially released on June 19, 2026, “Amalingo” appears as the sixth track on the album and runs for 3 minutes and 38 seconds. The song was released under Loxion Records, with Mthokozisi Goodenough Mbhambo credited as the composer and lyricist.
Musically, “Amalingo” carries the classic Maskandi sound, built on fast acoustic guitar picking, a steady traditional Zulu bassline, and UNjoko’s raw vocal delivery. Unlike some collaborative songs on the album, this one gives him space to deliver a focused solo performance.
The title “Amalingo” can be understood as “tricks” or “illusions,” reflecting a message about life’s games, deceit, and the need to stay wise. Through the song, UNjoko shares a traditional life lesson while staying true to his Zulu roots and Maskandi storytelling style.
