Malawian reggae and dancehall star Sangie, whose real name is Angel Mbekeani, returns with a brand-new single titled “Gonthi,” a fresh release that adds to her growing catalogue of soulful and conscious African music.

Officially released on June 12, 2026, “Gonthi” follows Sangie’s recent collaboration on “Pepa” and arrives ahead of her upcoming track “Sindo,” scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. The song continues her musical journey as one of Malawi’s respected female voices in reggae, dancehall, and Afro-fusion.
Known for her smooth vocals, emotional delivery, and meaningful songwriting, Sangie often uses her music to explore themes of love, empowerment, identity, and social awareness. With “Gonthi,” she keeps building on the sound and message that have made her stand out in the Malawian music industry.
Sangie first gained major attention with her 2014 breakthrough song “I Do It All for Love” and has since grown into a multi-award-winning artist from Blantyre. Beyond music, she has also been recognized for her advocacy work, including her role as a former UNICEF Champion for Children.
