Officially released on June 12, 2026, “Simbathise (Live)” was recorded during a deeply spiritual Encounter night at Carnival City. The song is one of the lead singles from the 3-track EP, which also includes “Yaweh” featuring Oncemore Six and “Ri Vhidza” featuring Takie Ndou.
The title “Simbathise” comes from Zulu and carries the meaning of “Clothe Him” or “Clothe Us.” The song is a heartfelt prayer of surrender, asking God for divine covering and spiritual transformation through the powerful line “Simbathise ingubo efana neyakho,” meaning “Clothe us with a garment like Yours.”
Khaya Mthethwa, the first black winner of Idols South Africa and a former member of Joyous Celebration, is now an ordained pastor and one of the leading voices in contemporary African gospel music. Through Art & Worship II: The Encounter, he continues his mission of creating worship moments that lead listeners into personal encounters with God.
