Ugandan Afro-beat legend Jose Chameleone teamed up with young rap star Fresh Kid Ug on “Kipepeo Remix,” a modern version of Chameleone’s iconic 2005 classic “Kipepeo.”

Officially released on December 7, 2023, under Leone Island, the remix gives the original hit a faster and more urban feel while still keeping Chameleone’s familiar Afro-beat melody. The official video followed on December 19, 2023.
The song was written by Joseph Mayanja and 14K Bwongo, blending Chameleone’s Swahili-driven sound with Fresh Kid Ug’s sharp Luganda hip-hop flow. Fresh Kid brings youthful energy to the track, delivering confident bars while also paying respect to Doctor Chameleone’s legendary place in Ugandan music.
