Tanzanian creative platform Aznas Link has introduced its new rap series 40 BARS with the first episode titled “MATURITY (UKOMAVU),” featuring legendary Tanzanian hip-hop lyricist Nikki Mbishi, also known as Unju.

“MATURITY (UKOMAVU)” marks the opening release of the 40 BARS series, a performance project built around pure bar-for-bar lyricism. The concept gives each invited artist space to deliver 40 uninterrupted verses directly from the Aznas studio setup.
In this first episode, Nikki Mbishi brings his trademark conscious rap style, touching on maturity, artistic growth, street wisdom, and longevity in the music industry. His delivery reflects the depth and sharp lyricism that have made him one of the respected voices in Tanzanian Hip-Hop.
The project is part of the wider Aznas creative ecosystem, connected to music production, artist development, branding, printing, and entertainment initiatives. Founded by Tanzanian hip-hop artist Azma Mponda, Aznas Music continues to support local talent while pushing quality creative production in Tanzania.
With Nikki Mbishi opening the series, 40 BARS starts with a strong statement for fans of Boom Bap, Conscious Rap, and real Tanzanian hip-hop lyricism.
