Zimbabwean gospel collective Zimpraise The Choir has released a new single titled “Mashoko,” a powerful gospel song from their 20th Anniversary Special project.

The song was released on May 1, 2026, as the opening track in Zimpraise’s planned 20-song anniversary release ahead of their big celebration in October 2026. “Mashoko” features lead vocals from Danmore Elsha, also known as Danmore Mandebvu. It was written, composed, and directed by Zimpraise founder Joseph Madziyire, with studio production and sound design by Emmanuel Chiwanga of Reborn Legacy.
Zimpraise The Choir is one of Zimbabwe’s most respected gospel collectives, known for powerful live worship, rich choral arrangements, and songs that have reached gospel listeners across Africa and beyond. Their 20th anniversary season marks a major milestone in their ministry and musical journey.
“Mashoko” means “Words” in Shona. Inspired by Proverbs 18:21, the song reminds listeners that life and death are in the power of the tongue. It speaks about faith, endurance, and declaring hope even through pressure, uncertainty, and difficult seasons.
